Fitness Motivators...Challenge Yourself

So, you are at this page, because we mentioned in class some benefits and some tips that you should start using today!  Did you already forget them?  If so, I have listed the links and information here.

Challenge yourself... starting right now!  Take the next seven or eight weeks - the entire session that you are sign up for and work real hard on what I have written below:

First, you are already on the correct path, because you signed up for your Fitness Motivators class and decided to make a change in your health and fitness! Congratulations! Next, we need to make sure you stay on the right path...One more thing... Make sure to check with your doctor before beginning this or any exercise programs.

  1. Attend your class (or classes) every week. Make sure to give it 110% every time! When you walk into the classroom, put everything outside of your mind and focus on....YOU!  BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and KNOW that you CAN DO IT!

  2. You need to have a total of FIVE days where you are active! Count your class (or classes) and add on a walking program... anything to get you moving! Stay active for at least 30 minutes straight! Even if you are cleaning your house, turn up the music and dance your way around the house while cleaning! Just stay active for at least 30 minutes straight!

  3. You need to add some strength training to your daily workouts. If you cannot make it to one of our classes that has strength training (Ultimate Fitness, Z-Box, Boot camp to name a few), while watching TV, do a few sets of weights... etc... get creative!

  4. Watch what you eat! Don't worry about dieting, just concentrate on what you put into your mouth! Is it good for you? If you do splurge a little (which is okay once in a while), can you keep it to one palm-size serving?  Just eat in smaller portions!

  5. For the next 7 or 8 weeks DO NOT.... I repeat.... DO NOT WEAR STRETCH PANTS or any type of pants with an elastic waistband! ONLY wear these type of pants to workout in or sleep in. I promise... your body will get used to wearing these types of pants that you will not realize that your body may be "growing" into them!

  6. Make sure you are aware of how long you have been sitting (Think about it... How long have you been browsing on the internet? Uhhhh ha! Get your butt moving and get your cardio in now! If you are at work...shame on you... hehehe... Walk away from this computer and stretch!)

  7. You really need to know your Resting Heart Rate (RHR).  Click here for the Instructions.

  8. Once you know your RHR, you should know your Target Heart Rate (THR). Please click here for the Instructions. There is a chart to download at this link too. We want you to stay within your zone - 60% -to 80%. It all depends on your level of activity, fitness, and health.
