Q: Why are our Zumba
Classes only for 45 minutes?
A: The
American Heart
Association says "30 minutes of moderate
exercise every day" and if you are
overweight, 90 minutes a day - no
rest days. Cardio can be done daily.
Since Zumba is far from "moderate", 45
minute of Zumba is perfect for one of
your choices of your cardio fitness
plan. Remember, and I stress this
for all of your fitness
activities:
It depends
on YOU... It is up to you to bring the level
up... to challenge yourself.
Q: I will be missing a few days
of class, could I make them up in any of
your other classes?
A:
We receive many questions regarding our "make-up policy".
Sometimes space is limited in our classes and those students
are disturbed that people that are not registered for that
particular day encroach upon their “reserved space".
Also, the facility frowns on a student making up a class in
another class. They feel, the only way a class has a
make-up day, is when the actual facility has to close
down for some reason (e.g., a water pipe leak, because of
the weather, or because the Instructor is absent and doesn't
have a sub to conduct class.
In short, Fitness Motivators has no problem with you making
up a class. You can make up your missed class, but it is
best to keep your scheduled dates.
Please limit this to one missed class please.
Q: I want to join the class, but
it is in the middle of a session, can I still join?
Per contractual agreements with each
city, we no longer can accept
pro-rated registrations.
Q:
Could I bring someone to class?
A:
We love having your guests come in for a workout! You can have
as many guests come to your class, as long as it is no more than one
visit, each guest, per class that you are registered in. There
are a few reasons we feel it is important to have you bring your
guests in for a great workout! Your
Guest Pass has a limit to one visit. (This number has been
revised from the Handout that you received in class.)
-
Your guest can see
you in a different environment and can cheer you on in
your quest for better health & fitness Plus, your guest
will be proud of you to see how hard you workout!
-
Your guest will
benefit from our class, even if it is just for one day!
-
Your guest may like
it so much that he or she will sign up in the class! If
this happens, you would have someone to come to class
with and make it a team effort on your fitness goal!
Q: Do I
really need crunches to get a six-pack?
A:
No, but
it could be better than doing
nothing at all. Cardio is the key
to losing fat all over the body
(remember, one cannot "spot reduce".)
All of us have a six-pack under our
layer of fat. So, how does one get
rid of fat?
Modify your eating habits (I hate using
the word "diet") watch what you eat, and
be more active! Make sure to add
strength training to your fitness plan.
As far as crunches, I feel crunches are
not the best for your back and neck,
because after awhile when fatigue sets
in, people tend to pull their necks with
their hands, rather than working their
stomach muscles to pull them up. When
people lose their form in doing crunches,
they may soon see a little pouch forming
exactly where they are working so hard
to lose! If you have a gym
membership, they should have some
AB machines that, when used correctly,
will give you the desired results. I
also have a video clip that will let you
know another way that could help keep
your mid-section firm
