History of Dance Fusion and Z-Box

Dance Fusion has been a part of Fitness Motivators for over 10 years! Our "Z-Box Fitness"  program used to be called "Dance Fusion", but then we wanted a name to focus on our ZEN and boxing portion, so Z-Box® Fitness was born around 2005. The "Z" stands for Zen Boxer.

We took the cardio boxing out of our Dance Fusion class and added more dancing/aerobics. We called it "fusion", because it was a blend of different dance styles and music from around the world.  This class was also called "Hip Hop Aerobics", but we decided to keep the Dance Fusion name, because the music choice was worldwide and not concentrated on only Hip Hop music.

We also had our past Dance Fusion classes set up as a nonstop routine that the students repeated.  We kept adding steps to one routine (Add-On-Routine-class) and by the end of 7 or 8 classes, the class had a perfect dance routine that they learned!

We decided to bring back Dance Fusion because of the demand of more dance-type-aerobic classes. I guess our Dance Fusion classes (that we had for almost 10 years) could be compared to the new tread, "Zumba
®". However, in Dance Fusion we offer more than Latin music and Latin Dance steps. We also do not stop the class to show how to do the steps, but make sure the steps are easy for everyone. (In our Fitness Motivators Zumba® classes, we do not stop the class to show the steps, but we do give the students a slower version of each step until we feel the students are comfortable.)

Please watch this video of a few of our Dance Fusion students from a few years ago... In this video it shows the class that had the structure of the "Add-On-Routine". We no longer offer this style of class. We kept the original structure of Dance Fusion with a blend of different dance steps and songs from around the world.

This video is from our "Hip Hop Aerobics" class. Sonia was the lead Instructor in this class.
I believe this was taped in 2004 or 2005?
