Beto Perez, a
celebrity fitness trainer,
created the fitness program in Colombia in the mid
1990s. One day Beto was about to
teach a fitness class when he
forgot the tapes he normally
used. Beto went back to his car
to find some tapes and he
replaced them with Latin music
tapes he found and improvised
the class. From this, the roots
of Zumba were created. A few
years later, Beto brought the
class to Miami, where he was
approached by local
entrepreneurs Alberto Perlman
and Alberto Aghion.
Beto brought Zumba to the US in
1999, where it has become one of
the fastest growing dance-based
fitness rages. Not only the US
but the whole world. People of
all ages love Latino music and
the easy-to-learn steps.
The rest is history.

sold, and the phenomenon

churches, hospitals, and more.
Zumba Fitness is
