Updated!  Basic 101 for our Students

After two years of giving you some corny videos, I decided to update some of the videos with some videos I found online. I thought it would be the best description of how we do some of the steps in class! These steps are similar to some of the steps we use for the dance portions of Z-Box  and our "other dance-fitness" classes (although we offer a LOT more dance variety in our Z-Box program).

Basic Arms used for one routine:  You know how much I love to throw in some tricky arm movements to keep you on your feet! LOL I thought it would be nice of me to include one of the arm-patterns here so you don't have to think in class! :-)

Video coming soon!

Front & Back Step or Basic Cumbia:  It is basically a "front and back step" on one side then you repeat on the other side. I am showing different variations here. (Back in my day, we called this "breakin" when you do this step real fast and like how we do it in class sometimes.)

This is a great step-by- step Samba instruction from Carol of the azukabom team. She does the best explanation of samba! One of our FM Team Instructor's sister attends their classes in Washington DC and loves their team!!

Basic Salsa: Remember, the beat that you feel is a "1-2-3" beat ,but it is actually a "1-2-3-4" beat with the "4th" beat being short or with a "pause".  The "rolling of the hips" will come to you naturally when you do this more often. Remember to keep your knees slightly bent and your arms up (as shown) for more of a fitness move.

Hip Hop Shake or Hip Rolls with Stomp or Basic Reggaeton:  Back in my days this step used to be called "The Bootay" or just a basic "Hip Shaking N Rolling", I guess since it has the Latin Flair, it is a basic Reggaeton showing different variations of hip shaking. :-) Just remember to bend your knees for more hip movement (it takes times and practice. Surprisingly it will come to you out of the blue!)

Video coming soon!
